DUMAGUETE CITY—Eight ladies from different parts of Dumaguete City will vie for the title Ginang ng Santacruzan 2013 at 7PM on Friday , May 10 at the Quezon Park.Tourism Officer Woodrow Maquiling Jr., said the Ginang ng Santacruzan was started in 2012. After positive feedback from the public, it was continued this year. A wholesome event intended for married ladies in Dumaguete, the competition aims to
provide them the opportunity to develop their talents and confidence , and their interpersonal skills.
Also, the search aims to recognize mothers for their personal achievements, their remarkable dedication to their families, and their numerous contributions to their communities.
The eight (8) candidates are Joy Quitlong-Duran, Joie Abejero-Ondangan, Marjure Armentano-Almannai,Marcializa Branzuela-Calunod, Jenny Rodriquez-Calunod, Marilou Tero-Corrilla, Vaniza Quibal-Divino and Caroline Catan-Amparado. Maquiling added that the city government handed cash subsidies to the eight candidates vying for the Ginang ng Santacruzan 2013 amounting to P4,000 each.
The winner of the pageant will receive a cash prize of P10,000; first runner-up, P7,000; and second runner-up, 5,000 Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria will give the inspirational message during the coronation night.
Everyone is invited to watch the coronation night of Ginang ng Santacruzan 2013, a part of the Santacruzan festival this month.(PIO-DUMAGUETE)
